29 Mar Fuquay Coworking Helps to Bring Some “Sunshine” to Students at Fuquay-Varina Middle School
Written By: Jaime Morehouse (Fuquay Coworking Member)
I thought to myself, how fun would it be if every student could have a little piece of “Sunshine”. I quickly remembered something from Big life Journal, a blog I follow. A simple printable with uplifting, empowering quotes. I knew right away this is what I had to do. My only challenge was finding a way to print about 1,200 mini postcards. Thanks to the Amazing folks at Fuquay Coworking, they made it possible.
After many sheets of printed paper and hours of cutting , I set out on my mission. I took each mini card and placed them on every locker I can find. The best part was a few 6th graders asked if they can help. That filled my heart with so much joy. The smiles on there faces as they helped me said it all.
That evening I was told how happy it made the middle-schoolers. I even heard from a parent that their child came home with 6 of them! PARENTS MESSAGE (“His neighbors gave them to him. A family member Is training to ride his bicycle cross country, and has the “you’ll move mountains” one is his little bag. You’re spreading the love cross country!”).
I am not done delivering “Sunshine”, just a few more lockers to go. Such a small act of kindness can make a huge impact. With just one single piece of paper that can maybe make that child’s day that much brighter.
